Selena Gomez was born July 22, 1992, the Mexican American father and half Italian mother. Named after the popular singer Selena,Selena Gomez was raised by her single mother in Grand Prairie, Texas when her parents divorced. Mandy later remarried when Selena Gomez was 14.



Shortly Selena grew up watching her mother prepare for shows. At 7,Selena Gomez got a role in "Barney and Friends" and later in "Spy Kids 3-D: Game Over." Her talent was discovered by the Disney Channel through a nationwide search. Her first pass of the canal was a guest star in "The Life Suite of Zack and Cody" and "Hannah Montana". Happy with the potential, Selena Gomez  has been given his own show as a Triwizard kid on "Wizards of Waverly Place."

His career in Disney got the boost as fellow teen Demi Lovato has also gained popularity. Together, best friends played in a TV movie called "Princess Protection Program".
